Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a Indian performer, singer-songwriter, and performer. She works primarily with Tamil and Malayalam films. Her debut as an actress was the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam as well as her Malayalam d but with Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah comes from an Anglo-Indian background. She was the daughter of a Madras High Court attorney. Also, she has one younger sister, who is currently working as a research assistant in Leuven Belgium. Jeremiah lived in the vicinity of Chennai, went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Jeremiah has stated that she was quite a geek and wanted to be a psychiatrist until she completed her 12th board exams.Andrea learned classical piano at the age of eight. She sang in the Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars at age 10. It was this group that shaped her musical and singing career. She worked as a stage performer at her university and participated in several productions through The Madras Players, EVAM as well as other theatre companies. Andrea was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea's stage career started by appearing in the film of Girishkarnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she appeared in a new leo advertisement with actor Shiva. She also acted in a television show that was telecast on Podhigai. The actress has performed across India. She played a brief performance at the close of Kanda Mudhal 2005. Gautham is a character in the film. Menon contacted her following the fact that she had performed in the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu film to be featured as the lead female character on Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea as Kalyani an aspiring homemaker, whose husband engages in an affair, and then is threatened with blackmail. Andrea won the role of Kalyani after Simran Shobana Tabu and other actors were approached. The film was released in the early part of 2010. In 2011, she agreed to take on a small part in the multi-starrer film of Venkatprabhu Mankatha, which premiered in August of 2011. In 2013 she began her career in Malayalam film with Rajeev Ravi's romantic film Annayum Rasoolum.
